Great talk, I hear you mate, I feel the same way. I have been on a kind of slow-burn spiritual path for almost a decade, and I made it my way of life. It is eventually natural and effortless, but also hard to get into especially when its so opposite to modern culture and distraction, and there is discomfort to deal with. Even the "beginner level" stuff you mention is nothing to do with building a practice or having a path, its mainly to do with taking the edge off a painful rat-racer existence, just so people can continue their same rat-racer existence. Just another thing to consume or numb the self with.
Thanks for sharing Vijay. I totally hear you with the beginner level stuff being pain relief oftentimes. I’ve seen breathwork as this way for a while, it’s a natural high from your breath and so often just gets used as a way to feel good and forget about the painful realities for a few moments.
Glad to hear that you’ve been slow burning it for a while. That’s a good approach. The more sustained the better.
