Hi Ethan. How have you come to know about IFS? Can you recommend books, YouTube channels, web sites, or how you've learned from different proponents/practitioners? I have, e.g. an "IFS Willow Worksheet" that I printed out, probably due to a reference you made to it. Can you tell me more about the source of that if there's more to be found there? Or is is something you wrote? and why is it called "Willow Worksheet"

The W.W. mentions Jay Early. Somehow I started getting an email newsletter from him, and even was in a 2x / mo group session with him, but it hardly used IFS; maybe in some sessions it was never used, or 1 or 2 things he's ask "Can you make a statement like 'part of me wants to ...'". I could never get any gut feeling of what it was like to really get to know a few different parts, and have a visceral sense of conversing with them. I could never get past it feeling like an intellectual exercise, or pretending to have a conversation, but somewhere along the line, I'd read descriptions of sessions that were very deep and moving, and lead to real resolution between different parts. If you know of any YouTubes, or other videos that show this sort of thing happening for real, that might have the greatest impact on me, or maybe some book or article presents if really vividly.

It does seem to me like there are approaches I should try from the worksheet, and I began exploring and finding some videos. I tried some years ago, but there seems to be much more now, so maybe I'm on my way to solving my own questions, but if you have any comments either respond to this or send to hal@panix.com. I'm kind of in a struggle to get out of w "Wake me when it's over" depressed mindset, and one thing very clear is that there are a lot of conflicting things going on in my head.
